Textile Tour:  Summer Tour 13th June to 23rd June 2009

The experience starts here!

For this tour we start in Boston, visiting Quincy market and the historic landmarks of Boston. A dolls house and textile museum. Lowell (an old mill town) is one of our stops; see the New England Quilt Musuem and other textile museums. Keepsake Quilt Shop (one of the largest in USA) boat ride on Squarm Lake. Drive through the countryside of New England up to Vermont, stopping at the Shaker village. 2 days at the Vermont Quilt festival, exhibits demonstrations and of course all those vendor’s for that fabric and other goodies!! A day at the Shelbourne museum for their exhibit of quilts etc. Plus lots more, the best fabric shops and outlet shopping.

 

Day 1: Flight to Boston from London.
 
Day 2: Morning in Boston, afternoon at Wenham Museum - dolls, dolls houses and textiles etc.
 
Day 3: Free day in historic Boston.
 
Day 4: Visit Lexington where the revolution began. Then on to Lowell to the New England Quilt Museum & the American Textile Museum and fabric shops.
 
Day 5: Keepsake Quilt Shop & lunch in Meridith with an afternoon boat trip on Squam Lake.
 
Day 6: New England Shaker Village, afternoon travel to Vermont, stopping at Sugar Maple Factory.
 
Day 7: The Vermont Quilt Show and Joanne's fabrics.
 
Day 8: The Vermont Quilt Show.
 
Day 9: A full day at the Shelburne Museum to view their quilts.
 
Day 10:
Travel through beautiful Vermont on the way back to Boston's Logan Airport for the evening flight back to London.

Cost includes: Flight, Transport, Hotel, Breakfast, admission to quilt show, museums, etc, taxes and gratuities.
